Description
Lockey Intumescent Fire Door Pack FD30/FD60
The purpose of the intumescent kit is to protect weak points of the door caused by installing door hardware helping to prevent the spread of fire by expanding when heated to preserve the lock and seal any gaps.
Application uses
- To suit Lockey 2430, 2435, 2835 and 7500 series digital locks
- Helps to protect door ironmongery and prevent the spread of fire
- It is suitable for installation on 30 & 60 minute fire rated timber door sets
Features
- Requires fire resistant intumescent mastic (not included)
- Fire tested for 30 and 60 minute applications
- Maximum spindle hole height 1200mm
- 1mm self adhesive intumescent graphite template for fire doors
- Perforated for easy folding
- To suit Lockey 2430, 2435, 2435K, 2435DS, 2835 & 7500 Series
Included
- The pack is supplied with fitting instructions to ensure correct installation and it is quick and easy to install.
- Fire door template 60mm or 70mm
- Customised Intumescent self-adhesive
- 1mm Graphite kit pack x 4 pieces
Installation
- Drill holes per the enclosed template. (3 x 8mm for 2000 series) (3 x 10mm for 7055)
- Mortise out for the latch ensuring there is clearance above the latch cam (as per the template)
- Increase depth of the rebates by 1mm for the latch face plate and strike plate to account for the intumescent strips.
- Remove backing from the self adhesives strips
- a) Stick strips A & B to back of latch face plate
- b) Stick strip c to back of strike plate
- c) Stick strip D around the barrel of the latch bolt cutting along the perforation to reduce to 60mm if required.
- d) Squirt fire resistant intumescent mastic to the full thickness around the fixing bolts/posts in the 8mm/10mm top and bottom fixing holes
Tested to
BS EN 1634-1: 2014 or BS 476: part 22 and BS EN 1363-1: 2012 for installation on 30 & 60 minute fire rated timber door sets
